Glycolen worden vaak gebruikt in koelmiddelen, antivriesmiddelen en ijsbestrijdingsmiddelen omdat het smeltpunt van -10 tot -15 \u00b0C (concentraten) lager ligt dan dat van water. In combinatie met water (glycol watermengsel) ligt het smeltpunt nog lager en kan het -55 \u00b0C bereiken, afhankelijk van de mengverhouding.<\/p>\n<p>Bij gebruik van glycol watermengsels moet worden opgemerkt dat deze mengsels een zeer sterk corrosief effect kunnen hebben op metalen. De toevoeging van corrosieremmers en stabilisatoren is in dit geval onvermijdelijk. Onze &#8220;Glysofor&#8221; concentraten bevatten reeds alle belangrijke afwerkingscomponenten zodat koper, messing, aluminium, soldeer, staal, ijzer, grijs gietijzer enz. optimaal beschermd zijn tegen corrosie.<\/p>\n<p>Wij leveren zuivere glycolen als oplosmiddelen en additieven voor lakken, verven en reinigingsmiddelen, evenals grondstoffen voor de productie van kunststoffen en antivriesmiddelen. MEG is de eenvoudigste tweewaardige alcohol met de chemische naam ethaan-1,2-diol. Het is dus de eenvoudigste diol. Andere diolen zijn di\u00ebthyleenglycol (DEG), tri\u00ebthyleenglycol (TEG) of de polyethyleenglycolen. De grootste hoeveelheid geproduceerde glycolen wordt gebruikt als antivriesmiddel (pekel) in waterige warmteoverdrachtsvloeistoffen en koelmiddelen (Glysofor N). Wegens zijn vriespuntverlagende werking wordt glycol ook gebruikt als basiscomponent in ijsbestrijdingsvloeistoffen en als antivriesmiddel in de luchtvaart. Vanwege zijn hoge kookpunt, relatief lage dampspanning en goede waterverdraagzaamheid wordt glycol ook gebruikt als hydraulische vloeistof in combinatie met water. Glycol is sterk hygroscopisch en is daarom geschikt als gasdroogmiddel en spervloeistof. Glycol wordt ook gebruikt als oplosmiddel en bevochtigingsmiddel in de cosmeticasector en bij de vervaardiging van druk- en stempelinkten, en als reactief tussenproduct bij de productie van polyestervezels.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-10 fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-three\" id=\"diethylenglykol\"><h3 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;text-transform:none;--fontSize:24;line-height:1.4;\">Di\u00ebthyleenglycol<\/h3><span class=\"awb-title-spacer\"><\/span><div class=\"title-sep-container\"><div class=\"title-sep sep- sep-solid\" style=\"border-color:#e2e2e2;\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\" style=\"--awb-text-transform:none;\"><p>Di\u00ebthyleenglycol is in de volksmond bekend als diglycol. Di\u00ebthyleenglycol is een derivaat van ethyleenglycol en behoort dus tot de groep van de alcoholen. Di\u00ebthyleenglycol wordt gesynthetiseerd door ethoxylering van ethyleenglycol met ethyleenoxide. Het is gewoonlijk een bijproduct van de productie van ethyleenglycol. De belangrijkste hoeveelheid di\u00ebthyleenglycol die wordt geproduceerd, wordt gebruikt als grondstof voor de synthese van polyesterharsen. Het wordt ook gebruikt als oplosmiddel voor nitrocellulose, synthetische harsen, kleurstoffen, oli\u00ebn en enkele andere organische stoffen. Di\u00ebthyleenglycol wordt ook gebruikt als bevochtigingsmiddel voor tabak, kurken, inkt en kleefstoffen. Een mengsel van diethyleenglycol en water kan als antivriesmiddel worden gebruikt. Meestal wordt echter ethyleenglycol gebruikt, dat meer geschikt is voor dit doel. Met een mengsel van di\u00ebthyleenglycol en water wordt het kookpunt eveneens verhoogd, en wel in sterkere mate dan met het systeem water-glycol. Vanwege zijn hoge kookpunt wordt tri\u00ebthyleenglycol gebruikt voor toepassingen die bij hoge temperaturen werken (> 200 \u00b0C). Het is een belangrijk tussenproduct bij de productie van polyesterharsen. Wegens zijn geurneutraliserende eigenschap wordt triglycol gebruikt in luchtverfrissers (luchtzuiveraars). Bovendien heeft triglycol een luchtdrogend en uitdrogend effect op micro-organismen. Triglycol wordt gebruikt om de lucht in sanitaire ruimten te ontsmetten. Tri\u00ebthyleenglycol wordt ook gebruikt in remsystemen en hydraulische systemen om het kookpunt van de vloeistof te verhogen. Propyleenglycol behoort tot de polyvalente alkanolen. Het is mengbaar met water in elke verhouding, maar niet met vette oli\u00ebn. Voor industri\u00eble doeleinden wordt propyleenglycol vervaardigd door hydrolyse van propyleenoxide. Hierbij wordt een hoogtemperatuurproc\u00e9d\u00e9 zonder katalyse bij 200 tot 220 \u00b0C gebruikt. Propyleenglycol wordt aangetroffen in hygi\u00ebneproducten zoals huidcr\u00e8mes, tandpasta en deodorants als bevochtigingsmiddel en verzachtend middel. Propyleenglycol kan de oplosbaarheid van verschillende stoffen aanzienlijk verbeteren en zorgen voor een stabielere dispersie van geneeskrachtige stoffen in zalven. Bovendien kan propyleenglycol vaak bijdragen tot een aanzienlijke verbetering van de absorptie van verschillende werkzame stoffen. Propyleenglycol wordt in de voedselindustrie gebruikt als drager en oplosmiddel voor kleurstoffen, antioxidanten, emulgatoren en enzymen. Omdat het onschadelijk is, wordt het gebruikt in warmte- en koudeoverdrachtsvloeistoffen in de voedselindustrie (Glysofor L en Glysofor F), in antivriesmiddelen, koelpekels, solarvloeistoffen voor zonnecollectorsystemen (Glysofor Solar), pekelvloeistoffen voor geothermische collectoren, enz.
